Alternator problem

The exciter in my brand new Bosch alternator is not working, thus no charge. Brand new wiring harness is hooked to old c101 but no smoke so I’m ASSuming its correct. Pins 14 and 16 on the c1 (instrument panel) are jumped with a resistor (no dash so…). This setup worked before the engine/alternator swap so not sure why it’s not working now. Any ideas?
