Just wanted to let everyone know that I did not have good luck with these.
I was suspect of them before installing them so I had a set of the factory
eccentric RTAB’s on hand before the install. Anyway, no matter what I did,
the eccentrics rotated with movement of the trailing arm. I spent several
hours Saturday working on these to no avail. There are three problems
with these bushings:
-
the recess for the lock washer is to deep. The teeth don’t rise above the
mating surface so they are basically useless. -
the lip on the nylon bushing material is so thick that the metal eccentric
does not contact the mounting bracket. The washer mentioned in #1
could not do it’s job even it it was capable of it. -
the inner hole where the metal eccentric goes it to small. The metal
eccentrics had to be pressed in there. This is where the movement
is supposed to happen when the trailing arms moves with the suspension.
The end result was that no matter what I did, whenever I moved the trailing
arm up and down, the eccentrics rotated with the trailing arm - not a good
thing since toe and camber would be dynamically changing with all
suspension movement.
Good news is that I called AKG and explained the situation to them and they
immediately agreed to give me a refund and re-evaluate the part. They
mentioned that this was a first run part and were not surprised I had a
problem.
thanks,
Steven
