Is this the cup shaped piece with a rubber ring around it directly behind the flex disk?

I don’t remember mine having any rubber ring on it. It is number 3 in this image:

thats it but mine is behind the flex disc, not around it. I will finish removing it tomorrow. I wouldn’t even be messing with it if my flex disc wasn’t disintegrating.
