325is trunk lid spoiler

#1

I got a car with an aftermarket spoiler and I’d like to replace it with the legal "is" spoiler, any sources besides Ebay and junkyards?

Pelican parts for lots of money or $50 from salvage yard or ebay. I put one on my 325i and I swear I get at least 2 pound of downforce at top end.

Not really interested on the "downforce" or the "chicks", just something to cover the holes when removing the aftermarket wing, or just install some plugs an live with it.

Sold me an insert for the drivers side rear bumper of my 89. Tiny part – great service! I think it was over $100 at the dealership.

Paid $15 plus $5 for shipping.

I removed the "boy racer" stock wing from my '04 GTO/Monaro and used plugs from a guy who paints and clear coats them to match. $20.00 I’ll get the holes properly filled but for now, it looks fine.

For a Spec E30 racecar, I would go to Lowes and get four plastic plugs.

I’ve got a spoiler you can have for cheap. It’s currently a mix of black rubber, primer, & Delphin grey. I can shoot some black on it while I’m doing my other trim if you want. Rubber is a little rough in spots. E-mail for details and I can get pics.

Put me on the list if anyone else has an old rear spoiler for sale/cheap. I don’t know why other than race cars need a spoiler and I’m feeling the rear get light above 150.

I’ve got one I’m not going to use - needs refinishing. I’ll sell it to you for what I paid for it + shipping. Contact me at hedavidson1@cox.net if you are interested.

i just put a junk yard is spoiler on last week for the first time.I will let you know about the downforce idea.
I know my lap times at Thunderhill so i will compare.
I am licensing so i may be slower due to nerves.
Hope the spoiler works…

Steve,
are you from Croatia (sticker at the back of the car)?

Good luck on licensing on 10th - I might show up as a spectator but it’s doubtful.

Regards,
Igor

Family is from CRO
On dads side…
You should show at Thunderhill…
we have quite the group…
Besides i can introduce you to the chief licenser(my friend).
He will be the one to get your license from later.
I will be there both days hopefully.
Wife is pissed but oh well.
Its whats racing is all about.
Finally got to meet Scott Neville a walters shop last week when i got my alignment complete:cool dude.
Also got to meet Steve russo at infineon"s last event:cool dude since we share the same cage builder ( RF Racing in Haward )
Let me know if you are going to show and will keep you posted of our whereabouts.

Steve,
I really want to go to T-Hill, but am debating because weekends are pretty much only days that I can work on the car ( and it’s taking me too long to finish it). My wife is understanding, but I am starting to hear " you spend every weekend with the car, and…" so I want to finish it before it "escalates". Will let you know if I decide to go.

will do.
Hope you can make it.
Also we have three cars with passenger seats if you want a ride.

I found a lid from a 87 "is", red in great shape.
BTW, question regarding the exhaust from the pic.
I thought we were supposed to go with two pipes all the way to the end, but I see only one muffler, is that ok?

#17

Great looking 4 door! We have several cars in MA running single exhaust outlet. The current exhaust rules do not prohibit a single, just that it exits at the stock location and uses the stock downpipe.
