325e cluster work with 2.5L swap

Will the stock 325 cluster work okay in a car with a higher revving 2.5L M20? What about the tach?

Yes it will work. Though you will want to change the tachometer to one that can indicate 6k.

In addition, you must use the “e” engine harness.

Thanks for the feedback guys. When you say change the tach is that possible to do without swapping out the entire cluster? Doesn’t seem possible but I imagine others who have done a swap have faced this issue and resolved it. Love to hear exactly how. TIA to all on this forum.

You can open up the cluster and change out the tachometer, or any of the other instruments.
