2011 Schedule

#21

I get all types of requests for people who want to take the Competition Schools. The most common is "I can turn a 1:NN.000 @ " - truth is I don’t give a rat’s butt how fast you are, we simply care that you know how to handle traffic and are not a danger to anyone else. Hence the idea that we are looking for experience in our advanced groups from applicants.

The truly deciding factor is the Comp School instructors - I literally ask each one “Would you race next to this person?” - and if they hesitate in the least, then we suggest they get more track time.

Watch the IFU videos, you’ll see that we emphasize clean racing within millimeters of each other. That is what makes it the most fun. I have driven an AIX car so far ahead of the pack that I felt lonely and wondered where everyone went and I have driven a SpecE30 mid-pack with so much action I couldn’t blink because I would end up becoming entangled in a mess - the latter is much more fun!

My decision to let someone into the Comp School is solely based on “verifiable” experience, the last thing we need is a bad reputation for letting someone race who is clearly in over their head…

There’s a DE at NCCAR too.

Go to the bottom part of the page and you’ll see the dates if you extend the Google calendar into 2011. Near as I can tell, no one else has spotted this yet. Ranger exclusive.[/quote]

Awesome schedule, Jim. You guys have out done yourselves. This is hands down the best schedule of any NASA region.

God bless NASA Southeast… and America

See what you fellas started now?
I was hoping to get through Tech (Horn,Lights,Brakes,Turn Signals and some mesh) and join the party with some “cool” driving at the back of the pack. :woohoo:
Now Jim’s come up with all this critical stuff. :S

And I do appreciate all the advice from everyone. Madoooskie’s comment is the best! There is hope for me yet!

Cool, now that the schedule is out, I can plan my wedding around it!

Bite your tongue Steve!!! Don’t ask, don’t tell is still current policy; it’s not done yet!

Awesome schedule!
I wish AMP was not the same weekend as Barber Oktoberfest, but I’ll choose AMP. I cannot wait to get on that new track.

Thank God I will be out of the Army before the next deployment. I won’t have to shower in a tent with anyone who is openly gay.

Here’s the latest update - not sure if we want to have an event over Memorial Day weekend tho’ - it tends to be a family weekend that folks can’t get away to play at the track…
