Little too much CMP for my tastes and not enough RRR… Not crazy about Barber either. Oh well.

What about "The Rock?"

#23

The Rock was sold and we are looking into renting it in the future.

We are using the NEW configuration for two(2) of the CMP dates B)

Ditto.

I was hoping to do a 100% Southeast schedule next year but it looks like I’ll have to miss a few of these. (and by a few I mean the 2 Barber dates :frowning: ) sure would have been nice to have had 2 RRR dates. Roebling is awesome with the new surface.

But hey… that’s just me. If I could make the haul to Barber I would. Looks like a good schedule, Pantas.

#25

Jim, by "new configuration" of CMP, you mean… East [or west courses] and full course? I’m sure there’s good reason, but why only one Roebling event? I freakin’ love Roebling! I sometimes do well there too! You’re crampin’ my "shootin’ for 6th place" style.

#26

CMP is altering their track to enhance it from Turns 11 to 14. When it is finished we’ll be able to run either configuration. B)

We couldn’t get any more dates at Roebling that fit our schedule, we had to choose between Roebling and Barber at the end of Sept-Oct time frame and figured that more drivers preferred Barber. B)

Wrong.

+1 for a second RRR date vs. a second Barber. I think of RRR as being the "Face" of NASA-SE.

Look at the options. Road Atlanta is a great track, but the events are so popular it’s a zoo. CMP has it’s limitations. The new tracks are unknowns at this point. Going to Barber is like playing roughhouse in the formal living room. Mom is gonna tan your behind if you break anything.

RRR is just a great old, low-key, spouse-friendly locale, excellent racing, perfect venue for NASA, and I think 2X at RRR needs to be the cornerstone of any NASA-SE season schedule.

Besides, we need a place to run IFU2 next fall!

Put me down as a vote for a second RRR event also.

I had an idea this afternoon that I thought would be kind of fun for next year.

Gum ball rally format. We divide ourselves into teams of 3 or 4 whatever works out to be an even number. Each car goes out for two/three hot laps. The driver coming in has to get out of his car and touch the hand of the driver going out. The total time for all 3 or 4 cars becomes the team total. We could even have a $20/car entry pot and the money is split between the winning team. This event could take the place of qualifying and the individual car times could be used to set the field for the race. We could have 944, spec miata or whatever on our team. It wouldn’t have to be all spec e30 cars.

Great schedule! I am actually thrilled that we have Barber twice! That was a great track to run on!

#31

Bill, how is it to not run on it though? That is the (or insert cost of Barber sod here) question.

#32

Bill & I went off track a few times at Barber and I can assure you that they do not charge for SOD. I even left debris (front air dam) on the track and they didn’t charge me for cleanup :stuck_out_tongue:

Twice. In the same spot. I guess he missed something the first time.
