2008 Points Recap and new track records

#1

Group, I was updating track records today for posting on the NASA site, and made a few interesting observations.

We had 45 racers compete in the SE this season, and of these, 27 of these competed in at least 4 races (not race weekends). I’d call that pretty cool growth in just a few seasons!

Full points are below.

A few new track records were set this year.

CMP - Mike Skeen 1:51.324 2/9/08 (note this is the new configuration so is not “breaking” an existing record)
Road Atlanta - Mike Skeen 1:43.233 12/6/08
Rockingham - Travis Wilson 1:09.269 9/21/08

Hope you’re all doing well, hanging onto your hats (and your jobs!) and are contemplating a rewarding 2009 season in SpecE30 racing!

Happy New Year!

Where’s my damn chair!

Good question. At RA the T&S guys did a add-up of the points to determine the finishers for the awards, and Geiger finished 6th in season points. (No, Craig wasn’t in the tower when they were ciphering–I was) Let me get Carpenter’s version of the points spreadsheet and see which is right.

Carpenter’s version probably included drops since most classes go that route.

You’re one to talk…who knows how much time you spent in the wind tunnel perfecting the “golf ball” aero treatment. Cheater.

#9

Not to mention the allegations of performancing enhancing drugs. Who has “Vet-TJ” on speed dial for their cellphone and doesn’t own a pet? WTF?

#10

Sweet, one race weekend, busted motor and I did not come in last in the points. All-in-all a successful ‘season’.

Maybe I’ll shoot for 2 events this year.

#11

TJ? Is that you?

It took me seconds to perfect that aero package at Turns 10 and 5 at VIR.

I can replicate that “advantage” on your car for a small fee if you would like. It is proprietary, so you cant be around when I do it…oh, and I’ll need to borrow a 5 lb sledge if you have one. Completely unrelated of course.

I went back and rechecked results for JP and Geegar…

Looks like JP owes Craig a d@mn T-shirt…and
Craig owes JP a d@mn Chair

JP has 1,003 points, and Craig has 960, so JP was 6th for the season.

Apologies for the mix-up at the Toy Run awards…Never did figure out how we arrived at a different points result.

#14

Suck it Craig! I’ll be at CMP, bring my throne!

I’ll have your t shirt, its Xtra Medium.

#15

I hate you JP. I’ll bring the chair.

Are you racing at CMP??

I don’t think JP is kidding. He handed me a medium once.

I knew Beertech likes dudes in half shirts, but I wasn’t going to play along.

What HPDE group are you running in JP?
