[quote]how doesn’t it address the issue - if you can sell them easily and buy legal wheels (even 15x7 basketweaves if you like that look) ?
I don’t actually see the harm in allowing 14x6.5 (or 15x6.5 which has a ton of wheels available), but given the rules that is the way to address the issue.
cheers,

Well, both Carter and Mike will freely tell you that the rules aren’t perfect, but unless there’s a controlability/safety issue or significant loophole, they’re not going to change – predominantly to set the precedent that the rules don’t change year-to-year and so that costs don’t skyrocket. Now that I’ve seen it in action, I almost whole-heartedly agree with it.
If there was a dearth of wheel options, I could understand the arguments for including factory 14x6.5 weaves, but there’s at least 3 reliable and affordable wheels ('caps, TDs and Koseis). Besides, my 'weaves were heavy, hard to clean and probably a little out of round – I was thrilled to replace them with a set of 13lb wide-spoked wheels. And I was able to get $250 for a very beat-up set.
And to tell the truth, this is SpecE30, not ‘Factory E30.’
