Is there any real difference or desire to have either a 2 door or 4 door? Pro’s and Con’s?
Thanks,
Rob.

Hi Rob,
this has been discussed a few times so search might turn some items up.
By my recollection…
2 door
some say the 2 door chassis is stiffer than the 4 door, but not sure I agree - sill and B pillar are similar, but 2 door has larger unsupported span for front door
some prefer the looks of a 2 door
larger front door and window makes emergency egress easier
4 door
generally less expensive to buy
easier to stash things in the back seat when travelling
may be easier access when installing cage
amenable to taxi cab livery
I think it is most important to get as rust free a car as possible and 2 vs. 4 door is personal preference.
cheers,
bruce
I like my 4 door. The rear doors are handy and make carrying stuff in the car much easier. My 4 door was far less abused than a lot of 2 doors I’ve seen. Probably not a consistent thing, but worth thinking about. It ain’t sexy to look at, that’s for sure. I don’t really notice how many doors it has when I’m driving it on the track though.
I have a 4 door and like it. It was pretty easy to install the cage and seat mounts. I can carry four wheels in the back seat area which is great when driving to the track, as a matter of fact I think I can carry four slicks, three rains in the trunk and the fourth in the passenger side…

Al - you have a new car? We just bought another 4 door - it’s for me!
Agree with the versatility of the 4-door - storage of stuff in the back is a big advantage. I also like the location of the B-pillar.
