1990 Fuel tank

hey i have a 1990 that needs a new fuel tank and ive been looking around online and found this tank dorman 576-551 but on the pictures it shows 2 holes while isnt it supposed to be only 1 for intank pump only?
I would also need a fuel pump with the mount if anyone could point me to one online i see this one but it says it might need 2 pumps for intank and outer tank while it lists as it fits for a 1990 325i. http://www.amazon.com/Airtex-E8138H-Fuel-Hanger-Assembly/dp/B0023QP9F0/ref=au_pf_ss_3?ie=UTF8&Model=325i|173&n=15684181&s=automotive&Make=BMW|31&Year=1990|1990&carId=004

I have an '87, so I don’t have any personal experience with the updated tank. However, the picture is right. The early tank ('87 and before) has one hole for the fuel pump/sender, the updated tank ('88 and after) has two holes: passenger side has a fuel pump and a sender, and the driver’s side has another sender. Your gas gauge averages the output of the two senders.

Your link isn’t working, but the E8138H is the correct Airtex pump, and it has the mount integrated. You only need one pump. The early cars had an in-tank pump and an external pump. The Amazon “Does it fit my car?” database gets confused because the convertible still had the early tank setup until 1991, and it was also called the 325i.

Rock Auto has a tank for $220, and that Amazon pump for $150 is a good price. Good luck.
