looking for a new (used) tranny for the racecar, does an 1987 tranny work on a 1990 car?

yes, but there are some 87’s that use the larger guibo…should have provisions for both styles of shfter and if used a plate shifter you may have to plug the threaded hole for the plate shifter mount.
