1986 E30

#1

I just got an 1986 E30 production date 07-1986. the drive shaft is broken at the u joint due to the person that owned it before not fixing the center bearing. would it be possible to make a 1 piece drive line or would that mess up the pinion angle. If not does anybody have the same year car they are parting out?/ I would buy it asap. I’m trying to get the car ready to learn how to race. any tips would be helpful thank you for reading Justin Chaney Citrus Heights CA

It shouldn’t be hard to find a used drive shaft for that car at a salvage yard.

Justin,

I noticed you’re located in NorCal. You should maybe give Walter Ford at Valley Motorwerks and get his advice about any car that you’re considering building into a SpecE30 racer. Walter’s shop is in Rancho Cordova and the number is 916-636-9526.

You might want to check out PicNPull on Sunrise Blvd (they usually have a good supply of E30s) or go online to a couple of area BMW forums:

Bay Bimmerz http://www.baybimmerz.net/forums/cmps_index.php or

BayE30.net http://www.baye30.net/phpBB2/index.php and look for a driveshaft there.

Good Luck,
Scott
