My reputation proceeds me. Besides someone will need to battle TJ for last place.

I will keep it short as it seems like everyone wrapped up the weekend events pretty well.

First I want to say… what a great group of SpecE30 guys in the SE. Everyone was super nice, helping each other out, asking and sharing advice, fixing cars and sharing paddock space. I really had a nice time meeting all the SE guys and racing a fantastic track. So thanks to everyone for contributing to a great weekend.

The new surface is buttery smooth, and fast.

Saturday’s race pretty much as allen stated, neither of us made any major mistakes and we were 1 to 4 car lengths apart the entire race. Allen did a better job in getting ahead of tow cars that I simply could not get around, but he could not extend the lead on the two cars once he got around them, so the 4 of us just chased each other hoping for a mistake.

Sunday - I got a good start and found some room in the middle of the track for the standing start. Next I got a push down the back straight by a IT prepared car and was able to find some clean tack and check out a bit while the group in the back fought for P2,P3 ect.

This is more of a weekend report than a race report. Being new to the Spec E 30 ranks and doing my best to loose my bad "my big engine can fix anything" habit, I’m still a couple of seconds off the mid-pack pace. From Sat AM practice to Sun PM qual and race I did manage to drop 9 seconds a lap. I would like to thank Laura Patton for offering to lead/follow during qualifying. Qualifying! After a couple of laps of going to school on Laura I mentally gave her permission to go on ahead. And she did. I’m having the time of my life learning the E 30 and spending time with all the competitors. Looking forward to Roebling Road in May.

Jeff, it looks like you’re finally getting to the right tread depth on those 8/32 Toyos. The tires, seat time, and schooling make a world of difference. Not to mention the fact that your spec e30car has brakes…but no horsepower. It is a different driving style, and you’ll have it down by the time you’re finished at Robeling in May.

Your competition is making the learning curve that much shorter. Nothing like throwing you to the wolves.Hang in there.
