I totally agree with Walter…the standard Turn 7 is better IMO. Jerry Kunzman mentioned in the driver’s meeting that they toss a coin to see which configuration to run. I hope for the season finale in October we run the standard Turn 7. One of my goals this year is to join the sub 2-minute lap club. B) This was a great race weekend. The weather was perfect…and the air clean to breath (no wildfire smoke).

Walter’s brother Roy took some great photos over the weekend. View them at the following link:

Walter said if anyone would like the higher resolution version of any of the photos to give him a shout.
My video from Saturday is up at http://vimeo.com/1271600

My camcorder turned itself off before the spin over T3 that should’ve been at the end :frowning:

I fixed the turning off thing (I think) by padding the battery so it doesn’t vibrate. I’ll try to upload sunday’s video of the race as well.
Adam…this HD video is awesome! If you go to full screen mode it’s almost like looking out my helmet. I simply must have one!

Good job…can’t wait to see Sunday’s race!

Hey guys, Graham here from Honda Challenge. I drive the white #8 Civic Si in H1.

I always check out this site just to see whats going on and to watch the in-car video’s you put up. I love the Spec E30’s and wouldn’t mind racing one some time.

Can’t wait to see your video Scott.

Hey Graham…Your car would be the white blur in my videos passing my car at a high rate of speed! You seriously haul-the-mail in your H1 car! Nice driving! BTW…I’d like to compliment you on the courtesy you show the slower Group A cars like mine…I can always expect a clean pass when I see you approaching in my rear view. I really appreciate it!

I don’t know a lot about Honda Challenge cars…just curious, how much HP does your car make and how much does it weigh?

Scott,

I try to be as nice as i can when im on track. you never know when i might be the one getting passed. I would want someone to pass me clean and tidy. I also try not to be too agressive and impatient when passing slower cars. It’s simply just not worth the risk making a sketchy move if its an out of class pass. I also don’t want to mess up the other cars race between his/her competitors.

My car weighs 2600-2630 (depends on gas). My minimun wieight is 2555. It’s got a 2.4 L engine from a 2004 Acura TSX (K24A2). It dyno’s 224 whp @ 7400 rpm with 193 ft lbs of torque. I rev it to 7600rpm. Its a completly stock engine except for a cold air intake, 4-2-1 longtube header, 3" exhaust and Hondata KPRO ecu.

Spec E30 is definitely fun. It is definitely a different perspective being the slower class in group A. I do miss the power of Honda Challenge.

This is the first two laps of Sunday’s race. It was a good race for me for two laps…I caught up to Kevin in Turn 11 on the second lap and was hoping I could ride his bumper for awhile…but an out-of-class car passed me and I lost my momentum and couldn’t catch Kevin after that. The rest of my race was hot-lapping all by my lonesome. I miss you AJ and Brenden!!

Cheers,
Scott

Here’s also my spin on the oil slick in Turn 3A on Saturday:

Thanks Scott! I regret not having a camera in the car, it was one of the more exciting race in a long time.

If you are still interested in working together on going faster, hit me up.
