I’m making the trek down again this year, just signed up

So far we have 16 (including Grace) SE30s. Sweeet!

Only 16?
Where’s Childress, Levie, Tower, Lako, Walsh, Schwartz, Levine, etc?
Working on schedule conflicts…But if Devinney supplies the beer, WalshLakoRacing have a heated place to drink it. We have a newbie, Dominguez (#114), to welcome to the SpecE30 racing group. Childress, Tower, Levie, Levine, Wilson, Schwartz, and Al need to get in the game.
Eric, Bill Z (yes that’s right folks, Bill Z is dropping the tennis racket) and I are driving one of the Drive-Gear cars on Friday for the 8 hour. Andrew has the other car available, give him a shout and come join us for fun and lots of track time.
That’s foot doctor talk for “I’m skeered.” :woohoo:
do real doctors have a different expression?

ok…Im in. Poncho boy is taking call since he wont be there and dont be surprised if a gangrenous foot isnt hanging from the dashboard lights of Devinneys car.
I am likely to be there, but I just checked the preliminary schedule and it looks like we don’t get a blitz race on Sunday, just the toy run…?
Is this correct, that on Sunday we only get one session which is the all race groups toy run?
Only 16?

I can do the Toy Run or the last BMW Club Race of the season at Roebling. Since I am the Club Racing Spec E30 South Atlantic and National points leader, it wasn’t hard to figure out which to do. I’ll be at Roebling. The Toy Run is always a lot of fun, but I just can’t do both.
I’m out for Toy Run. Car is down for the count right now. Took it to Patton’s playground yesterday to check some things and do an alignment, but instead found the rear suspension is goobered up. RR trailing arm bushings are shot somehow (they are not all that old) and the wheel has a huge amount of play in the toe in/out direction.
Was going to try and make a rush job on the repair using the IE adjusters, but they are out of stock and will be for a few weeks. I did speak to someone there and he tells me a new design adjustment system is going on sale soon. Same geometry principles, but different execution. His verbal description wasn’t all that illuminating, so guess I’ll wait for the website pictures.
In any regard, aside from the fact the car is a pig to drive the way it is, I don’t trust it to hold together. Robert knows a guy who has a set of new IE adjusters I could get, but given the like/hate relationship I’ve been hearing about from you all, I think I might as well wait and be an early adopter for the new system.
Those of you who came last year might remember that for the Toy run race, we had our own grid spot “drawing within a drawing” so that instead of being randomly scattered through an 80-car field, we had our own block of numbers together at the back of the field.
That seemed to work really well, and resulted in SE30s mostly racing each other, at least at the start of the race. I’ve gotten agreement from Jim/Julie that we can do the same thing again this year, so when we all round up Sunday morning to get grid spots, plan on getting SE30 ‘special’ spots from Robert or myself.
Up to 19 now.
Looks like we are holding firm at 19. Sorry to hear our ring leader Chuck T won’t be mixing it up with us!!
The forecast looks great for dry track and lots of horsepower!
It’ll be great having Curran, Grace, Hey, and Gags coming from out of region to shake things up.
Enduro should be fun too.
E30s registered:
Walsh/Lako/Damagnez (registered as E2, should be E3, right?)
Drive Gear 8 hour car (Palacio/Palacio)
Drive Gear 4 hour car (Staples/Steve D)
Luke Belverd (+ Johan?) in a used-to-be-Spec car
Spec E30 types:
Skeen (splitting time in an E36M3 and S2000)
Steve D (in Ryan Downton’s Integra)
I’m currently seeing 20 on the entrants list with one of those being the #401 of Charles Taylor.
Chuck, are you in or out?
Matt
Actually I think I’m going to be in. Thanks to some extra effort from Patton, I’ve got the parts on the way, he’s getting the brackets welded for me this week after they arrive, and we expect to screw it back together on Friday when I get back to town.
Should be a great weekend; the long-range forecast looks great!
