Was able to see some examples of how others set up their catch cans at Summit with weekend. I can get my arm around the transmission to the vent without loosening the transmission mounts, so I think that I should be able to get a hose on there once I lower the trans a little. I’ll have access to a lift for a few hours, but will have to buy the hose in advance. Does anyone know what inner and outer diameter hose will fit the vent tube? Also, does the plastic piece just pop off? Thanks.

I used 3/8 I.D. hose from the local auto parts store.[/quote]
Awesome. Thanks. Going to try to lower the trans a little next week and put a tube on. Really appreciate the response.
Is the tranny leaking fluid out of the vent tube that common? It sounds like everyone is running a catch can?
I don’t know why but my tranny pukes out about a third of a liter when I fill it. So each year I change it’s fluid, it pukes out a third of a liter, and then it’s happy.
The previous owner of my car said he had no issues with the tranny puking. I had issues on my second session in the car. I think I drive the car a bit harder than he did. Once I put the hose on and ran it into the engine compartment it does not puke and the fluid does not make it to my catch can.
This is off topic but I have no motivation to join anymore forums. The diff in my tow vehicle refuses to keep down oil. I thought it was a leak until I replaced the box and the input seal and pan gasket. Inside the diff looked perfect, no sparkles. It has a breather that is mounted up on the left frame rail after 3 feet of line. Around the breather was covered in oil. I drove to autobahn (5 hours) and when I got there the back of the truck, front of the trailer and car were splattered with diff fluid again. I fill it up til it drips out the fill hole and its usually down a quart and a half. Its an 01 ram with an 8 3/4 open diff.
