Any video from the event? I don’t think I have ever seen a video of a SpecE30 around Barber.
There’s a group set up in Vimeo that will help locate a lot of good content. The URL is http://vimeo.com/groups/SpecE30

NASA-SE hasn’t raced at Barber since I think May or June 2010 and also spring the year before, so have to hunt backwards through the clips to find something, most likely.
This is the link you want, I have all the videos grouped into albums by track, this link is Barber

Yeah I add all my videos to the SpecE30 group on Vimeo but for some reason I remembered searching for Barber videos and not finding any awhile back.

My video of the first sprint race is http://vimeo.com/30776866

The blue car in front late in the race, that is parking in the turns, allowed the pack catch up and led to a bit of excitement in the last minute.

Video from Than Orens’ #191 SpecE36. I started 2nd, passed for the lead, then hit Fred in the pits

Re. the howling differential in my '06 F150 tow vehicle. Shop just called and apparently the bearings in the diff are shot. $800. Woo hoo. Sigh.

Holy crap Fred! I didn’t realize Sri came across your bow that close! Nice driving.

Did they mention the cause? Perhaps oil starvation or not enough cooling of the oil. You might need to cut some holes in your chassis to get better air flow to it or put on a fined diff cover.

That looked like a NASA Thunder start.:S

There were a lot of folks there that were seeing Barber for the first time. Two practice sessions and qual just weren’t enough to get what should have been faster cars in front of our Spec E30’s. It was only slightly better on Saturday. Barber is a track that doesn’t come easily to many drivers.

Too many blind entrance cornere:woohoo:

Steve…look me up at the ARRC…I’ll be down by the creek. Chuck

Remember the scene in Star War IV where Darth Vader lifts some rebel officer up off the ground by the neck? Visualize his feet kicking in the air.

The visual I got was more like Ranger being bent over the tool box with the theme from Deliverance playing in the background. CB

WOW. Did he just blow the braking point? Then he proceeds to pull it immediately back on track, making you dodge him again. We were just all out to get’cha, Fred

He said that he had a catastrophic brake failure and spent some time after the race showing folks a brake line. Personally, I find it odd that someone would, immed after catastrophic brake failure, hustle the rest of the way around the track. Not limp around, hustle. Me…I’d sit there off the track and wait for the EV to come fetch me.

Funny you should mention it - I did check my car to see if someone had painted a target on it… :silly:

thanks for that video don! it gets interesting around the 16:00 mark!

Yeah, it is a shame that youday and Fred’s day had to end that way. The vid pretty clearly shows what happened and where the damage to your right sde came from.

the videos of my Saturday sprint and the Sunday enduro should be up soon.
