I wonder why, if NASA really wants more bracing at the doors, they don’t just require it. It seems like a fairly easy thing to add in the early design stages.

Americans react poorly when governing organizations attempt to be their nanny. The regs attempt to provide a minimum solution, not an optimum solution.
