I got the $100 aux-in box that does RPM input, but I’m OCD about collecting as much data as I can. It’s nice to have.
I made my own mounting brackets - was never impressed with the OEM ones.

Any other options to get? Are the mounting brackets worth the $?[/quote]
Yes on the TraqTach. I find it useful when overlaying the data display onto my video.
The mounting bracket for the Sensor Unit is not necessary. A nice big chunk of velcro holds it in place just fine (in the trunk for me - keeps it away from the cool suit water in the passenger area).
For the display unit, I would recommend the snap-in plastic bracket. My first couple mounting styles used velcro on the bottom and back of the DU. That seems to work well if you stick the DU to the clear plastic cluster cover. But I like my Traqmate mounted on top of the cash over the center stack.

The TraqData module might be better. It will do RPM plus a bunch of other inputs.
I just sold my Traqmate, but thought it was good for the past 2-3 years Ive been using it. The newer software that allows predictive lap timing is awesome.
We find the TraqData adapter very useful for RPM as well as having additional inputs. We have a great write up here for more detailed information:

While the TraqSync cable only allows for Chasecam and RPM, you’ll find that the TraqData adapter allows for Chasecam, RPM and 3 additional analogue and 1 additional digital input. For example, we have the RPM, TPS (throttle position sensor) and brake (digital) hooked up.
It’s a nice way to “grow” into additional inputs as you need them.
