CMP Mid Atlantic Results

FYI, I think Rick discovered his problem to be a battery tray that had collapsed shorting the positive battery terminal to ground.

he told me that Sunday afternoon.

Mike, transmission or transgression?
How much more $ would the white car have pocketed had he/she made that poor judgement move stick? On second thought, that move would have never worked.

Give them 3 points on a count-down from 10? Is anyone keeping score?

I should back away from the keyboard now.

Agreed, that was a hugely optimistic move

I think we have both learned that Mid-Atlantic has a whole different set of rules Robert, I just wish I knew how to get a copy. I’m now backing away from the keyboard also.

I believe its a compliment refering to your pass on Cobetto in T11 at VIR or passing Jon in T4.

Jon, correct me if I’m wrong.

Thanks for the clarification JP, yes, that was mean’t as a compliment to Randy. He made some incredible passes at VIR and raced all of us cleanly.

Well, this will be my last post. I post a report and get drilled for it. You guys can keep all of your negative comments about Mid-Atlantic and guys who actually comeout to race each other hard to yourselves. I make no excuses. I drive aggresively, something a lot of you have a problem with. Have fun typing on the internet. See you at the track some time.

Sorry to hear this was your last post Jonny and will definately look forward to seeing you at the track.

The rules say no metal contact is allowed. What is it about that rule that you guys don’t understand? It doesn’t make any difference if the contact is consensual, the rules do not make concessions for that.

No one in the Southeast would say that Mike Skeen isn 't an agressive driver. How does he manage to finish every single race in first place without metal contact?

#28

seem to me alot of the south-east dudes drive and race hard.

I have not raced with them but have watched them. Skeen, Al, JP, Damion, Travis (all known to be agressive and give noting a way) and a others race hard every race. They only hold back to not make contact. Word on da street is… if all contact was reported… the facts would reinforce this as the truth.

no need to get upset when an observation is made.

There is a fine line between aggressive driving and foolish driving, hopefully you filled out a few body contact forms for all of that “aggressive driving” you did.

The SE guys are 1 year behind the MA group in development.

With fields of 25 cars and inverted fields (at least for the RR race) there will be mistakes and bent metal.

The resulting enforcement for car-to-car contact will determine the atmosphere for future races.

I’m hopeful that both SE and MA have controls in place to minimize the foolish mistakes.

Does that minimize agressive driving?

Each racer has to answer that for themselves.

Know who you are racing and race accordingly? Good question.

Regards, Robert Patton

PS. this is not just a SE/MA discussion. With cars developing in the Ohio and California areas, eash region will take on a unique atmosphere for racing.

Thanks for clarifying. I got a call asking me who I hit and was pointed to the post. It could have been read either way I guess. I certainly did not want to start of on the wrong foot with this group and that is why I asked.

I did make a couple aggressive passes. At the start of the race I got the feeling that was the only way I could make it happen. There is a bunch of good and aggressive, not mutually exclusive, drivers in your group. I liked it. When the racing is close like that and there is that much aggression in such a tight space it is inevitable to have contact from time to time. I am NOT saying it is ok, just stating that realistically it’s going to happen. I have made my own share of low percentage moves that did not turn out as intended. I have also paid the price of many others stupidity. Everyone makes mistakes here and there. It’s the repeat offenders that are the real problem as well as the guys that make zero percentage moves that cause lots of damage.

Jonny I have had my share of getting slammed on the net, the comments I have read here pale in comparison to the name calling I have endured… In fact, I didn’t read anything that bad at all.

I am always humored by internet personalities. Racers have to do something to pass time until they get their next fix.

Randy come on down to the southeast, I’m sure Rob’s car is available for use! We’ll see how agressive you can be

Heh…who will be the first to dent Indy Jim’s car??

Did I miss something that was said to Jonny?

How can anyone jump into a Beertech car and win a MA race at VIR?? That is a sure sign of a badass, thanks Jim for inviting Randy. I have finished one out of the money the last 2 races…I am looking for that 6th place on Sat at RRR. See yall there.

Wasnt this about MA CMP??

I dont get on the net much except for porn.

Probably Indy Jim.

Hes only invited if he drives a 318.

Originally yes, now it is about porn.

I think that is something both the SE and MA can stand behind (the way JP likes it).

I’m not going to comment on the MA because I don’t race with them.

If Jim can catch up to the front, I’ll be the first to welcome him!

Don’t you mean… the second to last?
