Great so I’ll get a custom suit and a pile of pads if I run and win at Nationals, I have your word on it

But first you have to win Nationals… And you can’t do that without Carbotechs.

Ok, I’m in, how do I get a set of front xp10 for $120? Need to replace my hawks and looking for alternatives

Victor - call Midnight Oil about their choice of pads - I think - not 100% sure that Dave Reed is using what they advised. 858.271.9946

Email Mike Puskar, Carbotech’s owner, at jr.carbotech@gmail.com. I bought some XP12s for the front last week for $125 I think. By they way, 12s on the front at 10s on the rear works well. You could also put RP2s on the front. The RP2s are an enduro pad that supposedly have less modulation but similar otherwise to XP12s and they last ~twice as long. I can’t really tell the difference between the XP12s an RP2s…

Carbotech and bimmerworld out of stock on carbotech, two to three weeks to get them. What is midnight oil recommending that is a secret that cant be posted on this site? There aren’t many pads, three to four worth buying.

Email Mike Puskar directly and I’m sure he can get you pads very quickly. His email addy is in my earlier post below…

Victor - call Seth at Midnight Oil - did you see Dave Reed? Dude… Carbotech is 1/2 the tail. Hawk Blues are 16 years old now.

I did, and he told me two weeks, same Bimmerworld, only a $3 price difference.
Hawks are old, but available, how´s that saying “better one bird on hand than carbotechs out of stock”?

I don´t get it, Carbotech is the factory that is promoting their pads and sponsoring our three times in a row National Champ in a series with well over 150 cars nation wide and they can’t have a set available? What gives?

You probably know all of this and are just irked because you can’t get what you want and get it right now. I’m the same way. But in case you’ve not been around small manufacturing companies…

It’s all about production runs and reserve stock. Carbotech has to be making predictions months in advance on how many of each type of pad to make, coord with their supply chain such that materials arrive about the time that they are needed, and when it’s time their production line spends a couple down hours reconfiguring for the new pad type. A small outfit like that probably only has two production lines, and there’s an assload of different pad types.

In order to survive a company has to have lean production costs and a only a small amount of reserve stock. But the downside is that if demand goes up faster then predicted it can burn thru the reserve.

I really didn´t want them, but since this pads are the talk of the moment I wanted to try them, and specially support a small business.
I don’t run a factory but a small business, and I know what you mean, and being out of stock on a popular item makes me loose customers, so the cost of losing customers, plus those bad referrals/publicity/customer service are more expensive than keeping extra stock on hand, at least that´s how I was taught.
Anyways, the good’ol Hawks ordered and being deliver in two days, and keep my door open to try Carbotech in the future if they are available when I need pads or have the money.
