Mike, it is an issue (if you have the gauges to know it). Talk to Chuck about it if you want, he was down at Roebling last weekend and concluded a crank scraper is a necessity. I would recommend if you have the motor out to go ahead and put it in. If you talk to Robert, he may even have an extra he can sell you.

IIRC, I read somewhere that a scraper alone won’t solve the left hand oil climbing, since It doesn’t ensure that the oil stays near the pump pickup – that only a baffle around the pickup will solve it once and for all…

And I have seen the oil pressure drop in a left hander – it happened last year (2005) on the Summit Point Jefferson Circuit, T3 → T4 (CCW). The stock idiot light came on and everything, but no engine damage (I lifted and the light went out).
