makes a difference in safety or stiffness?

#62

Stiffness…and you run it to the center of the cross bar. To triangulate, you run from the back side of the cross bar to the rear floor mounts.

I like that, i’ll do my next cage that way.

The team took the Condor Speed Shop Spec E30 #12 out on its Second outing at Homestead this weekend. We made it through all 4 races this weekend without any major issues. We do have some homework to do before the March event, including pulling the M20 in favor of a freshly rebuilt motor, along with adding our new livery.

update time!

Jan 10
Woo Hoo! no more red fender!

Jan 11
Took the car to the dyno, I wasn’t too happy with the results, so its time for a new motor! The HP was in the upper 130 range. it needs to be around 155 hp at the wheels…

Jan 20
So, i began to pull the engine and replace it with a freshly rebuilt M20.

Feb 21
The new rebuild is nothing fancy. Just an oem spec rebuild. I Installed a new IJ scraper.

Tight & timed

Feb 24
Assembled the fuel rail on the spec M20 with a new FPR and some refreshed injectors from Witchhunter Performance.

Lots of new shiny parts.

She’s ready to go! Just waiting on the rebuilt alternator.

That motor sho is purdy! Better get it in the car ready for Homestead!

Its been a long while since the last update:

The #12 is done! She’s got a fresh M20 and new Livery! We freaking love how it turned out! Huge props to Jason over at KD vinyl who provided and cut all the vinyl for us, and to all the Condor “shop rats” for their help all along the way (Jay, Tag, Christina, John, Belina, Shawn, Rock, you all know who you are).

March 15
We finished prepping the motor, installed the clutch, resealed & mounted the trans, installed the starter, and threw it all on the hoist. THe motor was in the car in no time.

I contacted Jason Knoph at KD Vinyl to translate my new livery concept from a digital file to vinyl. It took a lot of time to install, close to 15 hours! But we love it! It’s a modern twist to a classic livery.

Headed to Homestead for another round of Spec E30 Racing.

John was there running HPDE

So was Belina Tight

Jonnycash was there testing out his newly caged spec e30(another one of our many projects)

E30 Compound at Homestead

We didn’t do as well as expected, so Back to the Dyno to get some answers.

turns out the car was down on power… we made a 20 HP improvement by messing with stock AFMs and DMEs

April 25
In preparation for the next Sebring Event, Jason came by again to finish Livery

We get it done. By reason or by force!

On the way to Sebring

I Absolutely love how it turned out.

Best shot of the weekend, Condor Speed Shop’s #12 car taking Sebring’s turn 17 at the last NASA Race. We finished well with two first place finishes, and a fastest lap time only .026 seconds off the Spec E30 track record!

I don’t recall anything in the regs about modifying door handles. Let the protests begin.

Good looking car. It looks like everything is very well done and it seems to be coming along nicely. I really like your twist on the classic colors.
