2010 SE Schedule

With the new management, Jim won’t have to kiss any ass, not that he would anyway. Which is good, the way the track management treated us, why would you want to go back?

Remember, they let a Miata stay in the sand at turn 1 for almost the entire race…sent a rollback with 1 dude to sit out there and ruin our race…there is no excuse for that crap. If you are going to do hot pulls, you have to do them safely and quickly.

No wait. I will help with the kissing. But that is as far as I am willing to go.

fixed it for you.

That’s funny.

What happened to Southern Hospitality in Savannah? They need to work with us a little. First event back at RRR would bring some serious people out, so try to “show them the money”.

#26

I heard Richard was out…I dont know for sure but that was the word up at VIR…

Can anyone explain what really happened there that we were not allowed to come back? The woman that ran the place was a little frustrated from time to time but WTH…she didn’t own the track did she?

#28

The rumor was Richard and Kay were supposed to retire this year, I heard their daughter was taking over mgmt though soo…

They manage the track for the Florida? Region of the SCCA who own it.

In a nut shell, as I understand it… they are FLA SCCA and tend to be somewhat hostile towards any non-SCCA groups. I’ve been there with 3 different groups and they are especially hostile towards NASA (IMO). After our last race there, they pissed a lot of NASA members off, and there was quite a bit of discussion on nasaforums about it. Things were said (and possibly done) that they apparently did not appreciate and thus causing a bit of a falling out with NASA SE. No idea how much truth there is to the story? ///

I’d love to see us go back there but I’d hate for Jim to have to kiss their ass to get us back in.

Other bit of info… the track is in the middle of a neighborhood. And even though the track as been there way longer than most if not all those house, the “neighbors” are trying to shut the track down. Mainly due to noise and thru traffic. What I don’t understand, is why they don’t plant a wall of leyland cypress trees in the empty field between the track and the outraged land owners? They are a proven sound barrier and would block the view, giving them less to complain about.

A big contributor to us getting banned is how we treated them on the Internet. Praise in public, criticize in private. Be strong. The more pissed you might be, the stronger you need to be to keep it private.

I got the inside scoop earlier today. Nothing is changing about RR management.

#32

I believe ranger is right, As memory serves I think someone started a thread called the wicked witch of RRR. I think that was the proverbial straw??

As far as the nieghbors being upset, its not just the noise, its morons who think the roads out side the track are still “Racing surface” . I can’t tell you how many times Ive been down there, and see guys raising hell out side RRR, Last year Mike Skeen .com ended up codriving the sled with me becuase the RETARD that he was sopose to drive with was going down the residential roads testing something on his car at race speeds?? The nieghbors practicaly formed a lynch mob looking for the guy. They allmost sent everyone home.

If the management has not changed, I will not be back regardless of NASA SE schedule…

Now I have a vintage car that I was going to run with VDCA in DEC, I gotta decide on that, it might be good to go down there and see how they treat VDCA compared to NASA, I have run there with SVRA, CCA, Tarheel Alfa etc. WHile I have witnessed unpleasentness, I have seen nothing like how they treat NASA.

Why spend money with people that are gonna screw with you?

I was there with VDCA and they were better (to praise)…

#35

I agree with Al…screw them until they ask us to come back.
